I wasn't sure if I had enjoyed the first couple of episodes, but it has gradually grown on me, I think that Elisabeth Moss is very good. I haven't seen Jane Campion's work before, but may now try and watch "The Piano"

Written by Aaron Sorkin.
it takes me a while but if the weather is crap, as it often is, and i have nothing to occupy me, then i will blitz through it, be warned it's very addictive, and at 22 episodes each series, be in it for the long haul. It has the bonus of the lovely Rob Lowe, who is just funny, charming and very nice to look at.
Have I missed something? Who do you think the father of the baby was Prudie? When you have replied I will add my thoughts.
By the way, the baby was amazing, firstly moments after it was born and then the size and amount of hair it had and in subsequnt shots its obvious much more mature body.
Why did the Scottish bloke flagellate himself in front of his mother's grave by the way? No explanation forthcoming. Also gratuitous sex scenes in my opinion.

Well, some bits were more surprising than others - it was different from most other saturday night entertainment. But there was a great deal left unexplained - do you think that there is going to be a Top of the Lake 2? I'm rather lost as to why they had the women living in Paradise at all! They didn't seem to add to the plot very much.
Well spoiler alert if you haven't seen it yet....I assumed that although he said it was Matt I thought the baby's father was actually the policeman guy who was running the paedophile ring. She seemed to twig this while looking at photos on the wall? No? I could be way off. Yes Isla, loads of unanswered stuff.
lots of discussion (and of curse spoilers) here
