Just watched his interview with Piers Morgan. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Saw Riverdance in mid Nineties, not sure now if he was in it. But the show was absolutely superb.

I enjoyed it too Caran. He didn't have anything to hide and was a pretty open book. Shame he lost the rights to Riverdance in such a bitter dispute, but he obviously turned his career round anyway. I saw the show in the 90's too but I think it was just after he left. It was good to see him dance on the show albeit it very briefly!
he left in 1995 Caran, if you read onto 3rd paragraph down, riverdance and lord of the dance you'll see, he didn't stay in it long, nor did Jean Butler

Something I will never forget is seeing Michael Flatley and Jean Butler in Riverdance.
A brilliant dancer but not the best yet he brought something magical to the stage that others, though better, lacked for me....x

Oh and I just had a discussion on this, he reckons MF was not in the version we saw in London in the nineties. But the show was fantastic. The beat of the drums you felt right through your body. I have been fascinated by it ever since.
I remember panicking as we drove from Warwick to London, having been caught up in traffic. We were driving past the theatre and it was nearly start time and we hadn't found somewhere to park. We did in the end, just made it. But still enjoyed it.
I've never liked the bloke. Too big headed and full of himself. However the other half does like him, so I recorded it for her and we watched tonight as well. What struck me were his looks...he looked to me a bit Richard Burton ish and had the same demeanour. Ditto his voice...though Irish and not Welsh, it was clear and distinctive enough to do the sort of narration Burton did so well.
