So JM has lost his sacking appeal.

I am amazed that anyone would think that an ageism case would work, given the way the changes in Channel 4 Racing were brought about.

If he had tacked his dismissal (apparently it was seen as such by the tribunal) - on the basis that he was never advised that his on-screen persona was proving unpopular, and that he was given no warning of his lack of a future, he may well have had a case - the tribunal acknowledged both those points.

But to suggest that he was dismissed because of his age was born to fail - so didn't anyone think to tell him he would not win?

Don't know about attracting a younger audience. However, since this new set up has been in place audiences have plunged.Cunningham and Luck are a bigger turn off than John Mccririck,in the grumpy household.
I'm sure he could have got double carpet on himself to win that case
Agreed grumpy, but he should never have used the 'age' issue. However he will have 30 days work a year on At The Races and be handsomely paid. Channel 4 Racing has become so boring now
Yes you're right on the age issue.
