loved it too, was very welcomed back in the Boo household, in fact was the only thing apart from Doctor Who that we enjoyed over Christmas.
I think its a good reflection of the original books in terms of Holmes' behaviour and his relationship with Mycroft. I think its a reflection of how much Holmes likes Watson rather than cruelty. yes he has got a funny way of showing it. The other thing that wasn't pointed out was that not telling Watson that he was alive was also protecting Watson from the Moriarty network. If he has no secrets, he can't be tortured for them.
Question Author
It's out on DVD 20th January. (Series 3) Ordered mine last night.
I'm afraid I fell asleep about 22:10, so I am not sure exactly how it turned out. Although, even if I had stayed awake, I'm not sure I would have understood it any better....it was terribly complicated.

If anybody could sum up the plot, I would be very much obliged !
'By any means' in a different frock. Too slick and glib to be taken seriously.
I thought it was hilarious when Watson was sure his patient was Sherlock and tried to pull his wig off.
Thanks humbersloop, but why was Watson kidnapped and put on to the bonfire ?
If I've got it right, Mikey, Sherlock didn't know, so I think it may have something to do with future episodes.
I could have got that wrong though.
Two mistakes I thought
1 pitting it against the darts final - I had to keep flicking to see the score
2 it said it was two years since the last one - no way
As Dr John says..."he comes back into my life which means I find myself being attacked, kidnapped and stuck in a bonfire. We still don't know why that happened. It had nothing to do with the terrorist plot. It was terrifying though. One of the scariest moments of my life."

Not sure about the date, though!

Thanks Frank97....I do enjoys these kinds of programs and the main actors are always a pleasure to watch. But just the teensiest bit less complicated would go amiss !
So long as it's not another "Lost" we'll be all right.
I loved it; I don't like very much on TV (hence why we don't have a working one) but when I do find something I enjoy I get pretty over excited about it; I'm really pleased this is back on :c)
it said it was two years since the last one
I didn't think that was right either,
From Wiki
"A Scandal in Belgravia", written by Steven Moffat and directed by Paul McGuigan, was first broadcast on 1 January 2012"
So it was almost two years.
I thought it was great and the various 'solutions' to Sherlock's death were very clever. But why didn't they reveal what actually happened?
hellywelly - have you been tested by mensa under proper circumstances?

or did you take one of those free tests mensa give out designed to make you think you are extremely clever and therefore tempt you to take the paid test at one of their centres...only to show the actual result is likely just average?
