Just flashed up on the Sky News alert app.
At this rate and for him to be arrested on the day that all the other household names appeared in court one does wonder if he'll actually be able to get a fair trial, if he is indeed ever charged!

I'm not sure why Starr hasn't been charged ? The Police have had ample time to investigate and bring charges. I am not a fan of Starr in any shape or form and if he is guilty of any offences, he should feel the full force of the law. But to dangle him on a piece of string for so long doesn't seem entirely fair to me. All those others arrested at about the same time are now in...

This is all getting ridiculous, what people did up to fifty years ago and nobody complained then, What about boyfriends we have had in our early years who 'tried it on' are we to seek them out and take them to court? No, because they're not famous. It seems this only happens to people in the public eye.
@bundleone
it's the very fact that these people were in the public eye that made it imperative that they did not "abuse a position of power".
We teach our kids to be wary of 'strangers' but the faces they see on the telly every day/week they start to mistake for 'friends'.
You trust your friends. The barriers are down.

The first time I thought Jimmy Saville was weird was when I watched the documentary by Louis Theroux and he asked him if he liked children because of his Jim'll Fix it show and the charity work he did for children and he said no.
When he asked why, Saville replied along the lines of "because if I said I liked children the press would take it the wrong way"
bundleone has a point though, why only celebrities getting hauled in after all these years, would the police take any notice if a complaint was made against Fred Bloggs?

These cases have created many questions to be asked, knowing the adoration shown towards pop stars and other celebrities, by pre-adolescent girls, could there be many more of these pop stars/celebrities, who are also far from squeaky clean?
And it was reported yesterday, that one of these young girls went into the accused person's trailer, what did she think she was going there for, a game of Ludo?
Another was said to have been assaulted in the toilets of Granada studios, once again one has to ask, what was she doing in Granada Studios and especially in the toilets with that person?

AOG - "Another was said to have been assaulted in the toilets of Granada studios, once again one has to ask, what was she doing in Granada Studios and especially in the toilets with that person?"
The report I read advised that the young lady was in the ladies' toilet, so i think it reasonable that she was there.
As to her reason for being at the studios, that could be any one of a hundred reasons - all perfectly legitimate.
Your position with this response appears to be the same as the general attitude of the day when these offences were committed - it must be the vistim's fault, not the perpetrator's.
Times have moved on - hence the court cases.

AOg, your position is dangerously close to " She was asking for it". Underage girls are deemed incapable of 'asking for it', because of their immaturity and vulnerability, however adult they they think themselves to be. But no woman or girl, surely, who goes to a man's caravan trailer, is , in that very fact, making an offer to provide sexual services, is she?

And where have I said that, or even hinted on it, I was just showing the other side of the coin merely to instil debate.
But having said that and also in no way condoning what is alleged to have happened in anywhere, it has to be said that in some cases some of the responsibility has to fall partly upon the victim.

Contributory negligence, or is it contributory ignorance, AOG ? Must remember that if I leave my window open and a burglar gets in and steals my stuff. His mitigation is "I am a habitual burglar. Mr Puli should not present me with a temptation which is irresistible to a man with that unhappy condition"
Tear jerking isn't it ?

How very interesting, now if I had said that out would have come the history books so as to try and prove me wrong "that things were different in my day".
And couldn't it also be said that "The Swinging Sixties" was the start of it all?
