Do any ABers agree with me that one of the best soaps ever was Brookside I really miss it & I think that Corrie has had its day, remember way back when Corrie had good story-lines. Come on Channel 4 bring back Brookie & let's see what acting was really like.

Brookside + Acting = Oxymoron!
Brookside wasn't as good as Eldorado - and that was dire.
I'm afraid not. I can't abide any soap other than Neighbours. Its great for a bit of comedy value. But I agree the Corrie thing - it has gone down so much since I used to watch it
I could never understand the accents.
Bring back CROSSROADS, lol! Wobbly walls etc.....
There was only ever one good TV Soap!

Buenichio , I remember 'Soap', I vaguely remember one of the women was going to have an alien baby because there were two Burts?
Scottish Soap - Take The High Road - later shortened to High Road.
Ah - all the gossip from Glendarroch burning Mrs Mack's ears.
Brookside was good but it's final year story lines were abysmal. Sinbad was a good character.

that's what I thought Scrivens....Imperial Leather for me but I can't use it any more as it makes me itchy
Never watched Brookside or Eastenders or any Aussie one. I watch Emmerdale and Coronation Street when I get the chance but that's not often these days.

Brookside it is then!

I loved Crossroads, remember Amy Turtle who could never remember her lines, so she'd just repeat whatever the previous character said! Priceless!

I think Brookside was seriously creaking at the end - suffering as all soaps do from the claustrophobia of finding storylines for recurring characters who, if they were real - would be in hospital with nervous exhaustion from all that kept happening to them!
I liked Brooky but , but sorry it was Sunset Beach for me -never mind the dire plots my daughter and I were in love with the Gorgeous One (aka Ben )
swoon .
The last time I watched a soap was with my Mum. It was Emmerdale when it was still a farm, and Amos as the Landlord of the Woolpack.
I really enjoyed Brookie! It touched oon many taboo subjects at the time. Emmerdale is a waste of space and so is Eastenders lately. Corry is the best soap at the moment.
Yes I enjoyed the early Brookside with Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston but then it went downhill
>>>I vaguely remember one of the women was going to have an alien baby because there were two Burts?

Yes, a plot line every bit as believable as that of Eastenders or Corrie ;-)
Dallas did some believable plots, Pam woke up and Bobby Ewing came back to life in the shower...........
I am soooooooo out of date with all the soaps.

I have no idea how Ken and Kevin's absences have been explained.

I do not know who is the current landlord of the Queen Vic, Rovers Return or the pub in Emmerdale.

Does Sally still feature in Home and Away?

I cannot recall anything particularly memorable from Neighbours so is the Hotel and Daphne's coffee shop still in existence?
