We've done this to death in the earlier question, pastafreak (not sure if you took part as there were about 170 responses). However, your assertion that

Only covers part of the point. It is true that many of those featured hd been in the UK a long time and it is equally true that some (though I'm not sure if "most" is correct) of them were working. However, the main thrust of the programme was to highlight the enormous sums they had been receiving in the form of Housing Benefit and the efforts being made to reduce the bill. In one case one of the subjects was working and earning around £150 pw. But he had nine children, almost all of whom had been born since he began placing such a huge burden on the taxpayer, and was enjoying a net income (including his HB) of over £800pw. So redvanman's point is not entirely irrelevant and it is no use saying "look how little they have left after rent". The whole point is that huge sums are being paid out to house people whose net contribution has been, and is very likely to remain, well below zero.

same programme, and it did highlight the problems, however did anyone watch the programme on channel 5, on Romanians in the capital, that would have had you yelling at the telly.

Just why is rvm's comments racist, Baldric?

He expresses a perfectly valid viewpoint (albeit in language that some may find distasteful). Huge numbers of people from that nation (not all, I admit, but huge numbers) come to the UK for what they can make. Much of what they make comes from the taxpayer (some legally and some by less leggitmate means) and they have very liitle chance of ever being net contributors to the economy. Some may interpret this as "bleeding us dry".
