i have heard the same (lily allen) song on radio 1 and radio 2 over the last week. When it was on BBC 2 it was censored, but on radio 1 it wasn't. Why would that be?

Question Author
maybe. i don't understand what was so bad about the word they cut anyway. Perhaps that's because i listen to more radio 1 though :)
More chance of younger children listening to radio 2 due to their parents listening maybe?
So its all a question of what you are used to?
Question Author
i don't really know dec, i just found it odd that if the BBC were going to find a word so offensive they have to cut it out, why isn't it the same for every station the BBC outputs?
From what I hear every day young people are not protected from bad language by anyone!

Maybe time of day? Censored before the watershed but not after?
Listen to the end of TW's show, it is a fat Buddha production for the BBC!
Question Author
who is TW?
Maybe what's left after the edit is more than enough Lily Allen, innit.
Terry Wogan
Question Author
he's still on??
Yes, on Sunday morning. He does an hour and then goes and has a lie down!
By the way he does not start till late!
Question Author
ok. I am a recent convert to radio 2. I always used to listen to simon mayo on 5 live, and really liked his show, and now i am at work a bit later, i listen on the way home
Question Author
heard it again - full, uncut on R1!
Wasnt like this years ago. A banned record was banned from whole of BBC broadcasting or not at all. Bet not many hear have heard of Flat Foot Floozy with the Floy Floy - which was banned because it was about a hooker with a nasty disease!
Question Author
i am just so puzzled about this becasue it's not even a swear word cut out
