R4 Comedian

Can anyone help me with the name of a Radio 4 comedian (well that's the only place I've ever heard him). He's american, I think it's a man but has a rather high pitched voice. Does monologues that are a bit noir, I've heard him quite often on R4 but don't know what programme?
