In reference to the original article you quote,I would like to point out that,having listened to half of the programme,Maria McErlane did not struggle through the programme. She presented it in an extremely professional manner. Tony Blackburn popped in to help out with the Grill Graham portion of the show's first hour which is usually presented by Graham and Maria. So the daily mail obviously didn't listen to the show. In which case this is just another "let's attack the BBC" article. This is just anti BBC propaganda.

Sounds like he had norwalk or the summer version thereof. It hits like a thunderbolt. Once you are ermmmm.....empty, you do feel better. If it was norwalk and I worked with him, I wouldn't have wanted him turning up for work and spreading it around the beeb.

btw, I don't like him as a performer and hold no brief for him.

Thank you very much for giving me the link to the rules governing Answerbank.
