Yes, i have Sky, but many don't.
Same match...different presentation and commentators - which is important to many people...hence, the original question and answers.
Now, whether BOTH needed to cover the whole competition at all...that's another question!
Beeb, definitely Anything rather than Adrian Chiles.
BBC for me, Adrian Chiles is a baggies fan.
Hmmmm. 23% of people watching and it's on 40% of the terrestrial channels. Seems illogical to me. And on two of the other sides are Richard Gere or Titanic....
40% of the terrestrial channels ???

Everybody (yes that is everybody) has either freeview or satellite or cable now - so has access to dozens of channels - not just 5.

They may all be carp - but there are a lot of them.
Well, I rather like there being nothing on the box that I want to watch...gives me the opportunity to do other things without the guilty feeling of "am I missing something worthwhile". We genuinely enjoy TV-free evenings!
I'm not watching either. I have 'Endeavour' on and even that's about the 1966 World Cup! Can't get away from football.
Is that right, sd? I'm genuinely asking, because the majority of elderly people I've been to today, can only get the 5 channels and have complained about the choices. Can they get more? As i can't work out how to?
There is no analogue signal...so everybody must be watching a digital signal....Freeview at the very least.
I'm switching between here and a live feed in a foreign language (can't find a British feed that doesn't freeze every two minutes). The commentators are so animated that a 5 yard square pass is greeted like the goal of the season. It's not haf time yet and I'm cream crackered.
Press the 'guide' or 'epg' button on your freeview handset (either the separate box or the TV itself, depending on whether it has a built in freeview tuner).

Everyone has all the channels - they may not watch them, or even know they're there, but everyone has them since the analogue/digital switchover.
Thanks gingibee. I apologise then, as my point about it being on two channels, is quite irrelevant in that case. I will have to try to work it out for them. I thought you needed an extra box for freeview.
its the world cup final, stop moaning LOL
we're watching the Travel Channel, there's sod all else on....
Thanks sd. I have never seen a freeview box or control at any of these places. I will have a further search. Sorry all xx
'BBC for me, Adrian Chiles is a baggies fan.'

Didn't realise WBA were playing
pixie: you only need a separate box if you've a really old analogue TV. If all your oldies are viewing any TV programmes at all...they should be able to tune in to all the Freeview channels.
Thank you, gingibee. I will look and see what i can do.
There's precious little worth watching on all the rest of the channels tonight, either :-(
