I would fancy the new drama he is in, but I simply can't abide his voice, or looking at him, or his one-dimensional acting, so I must avoid.
Although - for years i could never watch Wire In The Blood because I found Robson Green similarly hard to endure, but that feeling miraculously evaoprated without explanation, and I have watched and really enjoyed every episode.
Anyone else find themselves put off an individual actor / actress for no explainable reason?
I like James Nesbitt, he's subtle and believable and very rangey in my opinion but I hate Lacey Turner, she might as well be wearing a mask, her expression never changes, her voice is horrible and she seems not to understand all but the simplest scripts in terms of emotion.
Yes linking from you I can't stand Helen Baxendale because of the character she played in Cold Feet with James Nesbitt, hated her therefore in Friends. Another actor I can't stand so won't willingly watch any of his films is Jason Statham, he is so overrated, I've no idea why.
@andy....to answer your question, with me it's Benedict Cumberbatch....can't give any lofty reasons to explain why,...just don't like the guy ;)
Love James Nesbitt though,....also think he is improving with age.
Admittedly he isn't making films any more, but I still can't watch any film with John Wayne in it. And apart from the Toy Story films, I similarly can't watch Tom Hanks. I can't explain why, I have nothing personal against either of them.
Tom Hanks is OK but every film I've ever seen him in he's the same character - presumably Tom Hanks. Sleeping in Seattle, Big, Saving Private Ryan, You've got Mail, The Green Mile, Captain Phillips, the one where he gets left on a desert island - all of them could be the same person at a different stage in their lives. Is that acting?
I like James Nesbitt, and I was never a fan of Robson Greene until he did that Northern Lights series with Mark Benton a few years back. I thought those shows were wonderful.
One actor I've never taken to.....Clinton Eastwood
James Nesbitt......i liked him (a bit) until he put me off completely in his performance of Monroe, a neurosurgeon.Cocky, scruffy, never wore a tie, let his junior staff talk to him in familiar manner and took the relative of a patient onto the hospital roof to " have a chat."
I was disappointed in the series and thought he was miscast as Monroe.
Well...Anthony Hopkins for me.....but I have a reason.....
He spoiled a production of Antony and Cleopatra for me......and much later in a radio interview said that he had been drinking and was bored during that production....
