When Priscilla married Elvis nearly 50 years ago, what do you think her reaction would have been if you had told her she would be playing in a Pantomime in Manchester one day? I suppose most of us don't know what lies ahead but you've got to admit that's a bit of a come down.

Could be worse. Could be in Grimsby or Gravesend.

It might be next year janbee :-) x
I wonder why she's doing it? Surely the money isn't that good?
True Barsdel, maybe Manchester is the height of her ability and it's all downhill from there. Her daughter of course lives here so maybe she's quite happy to be in this country over Christmas even if she is in panto
She must enjoy it.
^ ummmm, Oh no she doesn't...

I'm glad she turned down the part of Wee Willie Winkie as they insisted she would have to carry a candle.x
I believe the big names get fantastic money for pantomime.
Haha Planks :-)
It is also co-inciding with the Elvis exhibition on at the O2.
American 'culture' doesn't feature pantomimes.
However, every American I have met (or heard about) who has experienced a pantomime absolutely adores it/them.

Priscilla really doesn't need to earn the money from doing a panto, there will be numerous reasons for her accepting the role and we are probably likely to hear about 'why' when she gives promotional TV interviews....

I wouldn't see it as a 'come down', in any shape or form.
Maybe she likes doing it. I`m hoping to see Jerry Hall (another rich American) in panto next month and she probably enjoys it too.
Come to think of it, didn`t Henry Winkler do panto here a couple of years ago?
sounds like she's basically rich enough to do anything she likes. I wouldn't mind that sort of comedown.
Joint top billing in a popular pantomime ? Not sure it's much of a come down. Brings in the money and is probably fun too. "She's behind you !"
I wouldn't mind going to see her.
She explained back in March how much she has enjoyed Panto and the reasons.

Thanks for the link Mamya. I must admit I hadn't read about it, had just seen it advertised on the tele. Well good for her if she enjoys doing it and as janbee mentioned, her daughter lives over here so I hope she will be happy here. When I saw it advertised, I just thought what a difference from being married to Elvis and living at Graceland to performing in Pantomime here in Manchester.x
