Help With Connecting Vcr To Sony Bravia Flatscreen Tv
37 Answers
Damsel in distress here, so hope someone can assist.
I already have a DVD/Freeview box connected to the TV which works fine.
I have a VCR which I am also trying to connect . The only sockets on the back of the VCR are red/white, and a 21-pin scart socket . I have tried connecting VCR to the DVD box via scart with no success. Then tried connecting VCR direct to TV . No joy there. I've watched so many "how to" videos, mostly American, and one guy even said I had to get on the roof. I don't have cable TV.
Can anyone give "easy to follow" instructions as this is driving me nuts. Thanks

Put a tape into the VCR and press 'Play'. (That way we know that there should definitely be an output signal from it). Connect a Scart lead from the VCR to the TV. Then look for the 'Source' button on the TV's remote control. (It's likely to be a rectangle or oval with an arrow pointing into into but it might simply be labelled 'Src' or similar). Pressing that should bring up a menu on your TV's screen, which is navigated by using the Up/Down buttons. Go to 'Scart' (or 'Aux' or 'External' or whatever else your TV might call it) and press 'OK'.
