Great series. Gillian Anderson fair smoulders. Jamie Dorman is irresistibly evil.
But.... the blackout ending?? Unfair.
I smell a third series brewing...

Ok Ken, unfair was probably the wrong word.
I thought it was great though. The role of Stella should definitely be reprised. She is amazing. I saw her a few months ago live in A Streetcare Named Desire. She is fantastic at the smouldering bit. She smoulders with a capital S.

Our anti-hero returns, fully rehabilitated and now a profiler set to catch his infatuated ex partner in crime who's on a spree collection gentleman's vegetables to decorate her standard lamp shades.
Stella is a swimming instructor at a council pool with a penchant for heavy petting.
The assistant chief constable now works for G4S as a van driver.

According to this DS link, there may be a third season,but Jamie Dornan may not be involved http:// www.dig italspy .co.uk/ tv/news /a60890 5/gilli an-ande rson-on -the-fa ll-i-th ink-the rell-be -a-thir d-serie s.html# ~oYQssb n5e5eXn Z
In these types of drama, i sometimes prefer an ambiguous ending. It gives food for thought instead of immediately thinking, "Well, that's that, then" and making a brew. There is no need to always cross all the t's and dot all the i's.
I suppose had it ended with an helicopter shot of the woodland scene, as the credits rolled, some of you would have been more accepting.
And douglas9403's comment at 2303 may have been said in jest, but you wouldn't put it past the powers that be to have Jamie Dorman's character live and go on to be a profiler - maybe even in an Hannibalesque way from a secure prison. Bet they're writing such a script even as we ponder.
