I am struggling a bit to find plants that like damp and shade and give colour .I have diabetes ...love lies bleeding g and a tree peony but am now running out of ideas.
The garden is a small courtyard garden with terraced beds .
Any good ideas please
I have this one in a woodland area in the garden... It's lovely but may be a a little too much height for a courtyard garden https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/details?plantid=1155
Thanks for the ideas keep them coming please ,liking the astilbe and aliums my course are mainly pinks and lilac but am happy to add a few other colours.
I like all those suggestions you've had so far, specially the ferns.
I have similar conditions in my garden and a fovorite plant of mine is 'Darmera peltata' its flower heads appear before the leaves, in spring them they are followed by the large umbrella-like leaves which turn from green to all shades of amber and red come Autumn.
You won't see nothing of it in the Winter but its worth the wait, to the Spring.
Thank you box tops and. Chippy (SORRY predictive text had you as octopus ???and childhood ) will have a go with the suggestions I am doing a plan and then getting the plants so keep the ideas coming xxx
If you decide on ferns, I would make sure that at least some are evergreen ones and those that aren't put in a marker so you know where the're coming up.
A favorite of mine is the western sword fern, which you can admire year round.
Childhood, you say.....well I guess I've been called worse ;-)
