Fairly Old Movie Title

I remember seeing a film a while ago, I think 2005-2010 around then.

I don't remember a lot however I remember people being stuck in a village, it was quite deserted and every time they tried to leave, something stopped them. A force field or barrier or something?

Anybody have any ideas?

Perhaps The Village of the Damned, based on the novel The Midwich Cuckoos.

It sounds like 'The Village' though there is no force field, just an old monster myth designed to keep the occupants out of the woods surrounding the Village...
