I have a big tree in my garden and would like my bench underneath, is there anything I could put up or do to stop the birds from pooping all over it?

I have found a large piece of black fabric with a sort of plastic backing.... I have a stash of allsorts.
I'm going to tack it underneath the wooden rail at the top of the backrest so it hangs down the back of the bench....not pretty but it's in the dark corner of my garden and won't show.
When the bench is not in use I'll bring it up and over the seat bit so I'm not scrubbing poop every time I want to use the bench...x

1) Here's a couple more suggestions :
Clap your hands sharply every time you walk past the tree, they just might get fed up with the noise and find somewhere else to roost, where they can get some peace and quiet. you may get some odd looks from neighbors though.
2) keep a hose with a jet nozzle handy and blast the poop off on sight.
a quick blast into the tree probably wouldn't go a miss either.

As already suggested, you've basically 2 options:
1. Try and scare the pigeons away from the tree or,
2. Get some kind of protective cover for your bench ... just remember the pigeons will still poop on this, so you'll still have to clean your cover.
If you're really adventurous, get a GIANT net to cover the whole tree so that the birds can't get in ..... j/k by the way lol :P
