Oh dear - what could have been an hour of good escapist fun spoiled by the awful David Walliams. Who told this camp idiot he can act? I wonder how he was cast - oh, wait a minute: the Executive Producer is.......David Walliams!
Afraid I didn't even bother watching this. I read a preview and it looked good, but as soon as I saw that David Walliams was in it........................
It is odd how people differ... I really enjoyed it and thought David Walliams played a fantastic role as a bumbling 'Agatha Christie' type leading man. I think based on the first showing tonight that the show will be a big hit (but the wrong time of year to launch it perhaps!)
One other thing: if they're so broke and never seem to have worked, how come they live in a big house and can send their son to boarding school? Can't imagine the two of them ever getting physically close enough to produce a child!
Generally, it's better than the last attempt at Tommy And Twopence (Francesca Annis and I forget who). David Walliams is certainly not hero material, I'm inclined to agree that the characters have been tilted to make him the bumbling-idiot type. I'll give it another go, it was escapist stuff - and we need that!
I used to be a fan of David Walliams until he appeared on the BGT panel and now I can't stand the man ! How Simon Cowell puts up with him, I do not know.
