Why? why? do they have students or indeed young people to take on the Eggheads, as they have no chance at all of winning.
Even students who compete on the subject that they are studying invariably lose as their breadth of knowledge is limited.
Only mature teams seem to beat the Eggheads because of their wide breadth of knowledge and life.

I agree. Eggheads don`t have to be intelligent or even educated. They just have to have a knowledge and memory for trivia. Young people haven`t been around long enough to have absorbed enough trivia. Maybe they just apply to Eggheads because they want to be on TV

what I've never understood is when a question is answered incorrectly, the contestant says 'it was before my time/before I was born' - isn't that called history and how many of us were there to be able to say they witnessed the Magna Carta being signed!
