Speak for yourself, I am not sure that the rest of the contributors to this thread are as slow on the uptake as you appear to be.
I thought it was written and acted in such a way as to be acceptable for children to watch with their parents. That's what the review I read said, anyway.
Will you be watching anotheoldgit? It's a classic isn't it?
^^^^Preview, not review.

Certainly will and it certainly was, especially the 1941 film version.

Although I haven't yet seen this 2003 TV film version.

Be interesting to see how this version turns out, not all adaptations of classics work, we'll see.
As I've already said...this is NOT another version of the original RLS story...it's altogether different. Anybody expecting the original story will be moaning on here Sunday night (Remember The Musketeers re-imagining...nothing like the original....and Sherlock, too!)
...I could point out that it's not called Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the main character is actually Dr. Jekyll's grandson....you have been warned!
well, if you will watch itv, this is the kind of thing you should expect.
I'm not expecting anything, will watch with an open mind - different is good.
Don't watch much ITV these days but am tuning in for the brilliant 'Unforgotten' and 'Lewis'.
Must admit I was surprised to see it was on at 6.30pm after watching the preview, I felt sure it would be on at 9pm. It's not a problem for me personally as I don't have little children in the house, but if I did, I don't think it would be something I would watch with youngsters around.
It has been adapted by Charlie Higson and comparisons have been made to Doctor Who so it seems very much to be aimed for the teenage market. As soon as I saw the transmission time I lost interest.
The Daily Mail doesn't know my children, and doesn't know yours either. Daily Fail doesn't like it, who cares?
I liked James Nesbit ( 2008 ) in Jekyll.

I will most likely watch this new one on Sunday.

just to let you know, anotheoldgit, i watched it and i can say "no" it was not appropriate. My 3 year old asked me to turn it off.
I watched it and -surprisingly- enjoyed it. But it was not appropriate for the time. 9pm would have been far more suitable.
