hc I remember that programme! watching it in black and white -that dreadful gnome thing and I think at one point a unicorn or pony got sucked down in a bog. Horrible memories lol! Think it was on something like 'Tales from Europe' we used to watch .
This is a "re-imagining" of the original....now set in the Thirties. Radio Times says "it may be on the edgy side for some of its intended tea-time audience"...the adapter is Charlie Higson....should be quite watchable.

As the adult with control of the remote control I would make the decision on whether it was suitable viewing or not.
Though children are well versed in telling fantasy from fact and the proof is in the everlasting popularity of ghost stories and the like written especially for them.
