I am so glad I did....what a fascinating programme......not only what some people and their families have to go through because of an accident of birth but what they have to endure because of the utter, small minded nastiness of those who refuse to accept a person because he or she is different in some way....
Michael Dillon was worth so much more than all of those who wouldn't/don't accept him....yet how his life ended...so bloody sad.
We're quite cocky about expecting others to accept us as we are, warts and all.....but how we can mock and be cruel in a situation like this.....
And the doctor....Gillies....what a brilliant and brave man......the work he did with those damaged, deformed and burned during the first war....then to go on and help people like Dillon......and admirable man.
One of those programmes I'm so pleased I didn't miss.....x
