Cd/vhs Recorder

I have a DVD/VHS combi recorder but when I play a dvd film or play a vhs tape there is no colour. Everything seen is black and white, yet it is fine when I return to the TV channels. All the wiring seems to be fine. Why aren't I getting colour on AV2?

Here's the manual for the video http://downl oadcenter.sa msung.com/co ntent/UM/200 710/20071015 162053171_01 436A-VR350M- XEU-ENG-BM.p df Which AV socket have you used to connect to the tv (sometimes it does matter) - it should be AV 1 on the video.

Your post is a bit ambiguous. Is the picture B&W all the time when viewing via AV2 or just when you are playing a DVD/video? In other words, if you watch TV via the DVD recorder, is the picture colour or B&W? Is the recorder connected to the TV with a SCART lead or HDMI?
If the picture is ALWAYS B&W via AV2 it could be the lead is faulty or not seated properly.

Sounds like your connections are dodgy, or your video is outputing/tv inputting as NTSC
Do you have anything connected to the video eg. Sky or Freeview, or does it have builtin Freeview.
If you can post the make and model numbers of tv and video, and how its wired, along with what else is connected to the video.

Thanks to all of you for the answers. I have a scart socket attached and it is always black and white on AV2. There are 2 Scart sockets in the back of the TV and they go from that into the back of the DVD recorder. However I have recently joined BT for the sport and have their Youview box attached to the TV with just a HDMI wire going into the TV.
It is hard for me to see what the serial numbers are on the back but the video is only four years old and the TV about 4 too
