Did anyone notice that on last nights episode Pat Simms couldn't pull her injured husband, Bob, out the armchair and had to leave him there for her work shift at the Exchange. After she met her Czeck beau at the towpath she returned home and there was Bob typing merrily away at the kitchen table.
The rising of Lazarus wasn't worthy of comment or surprise by her it seemed.
I noticed and assumed he was able to transfer himself between one chair and another using the strength in his arms, like many people who don't have the use of their legs can.
Please you must pay more attention when watching these progs. After she had gone out he forced himself to stand by using his arms to push up, he then went out with his walking stick so that he could spy on his wife & saw her with the Check guy & as you say was busy typing when she arrived home.

He couldn't get out the chair with his wife's help or so it looked. Even if he did it by arm strength you would of thought Pat Simms would have commented on her return!
I felt that he deliberately stopped her from lifting him out of the chair to make her believe that he was immobile. She wouldn't dare comment when she came home and found him typing.
I thought he was showing he couldn't stand up because his legs were too weak but he had transferred himself between chairs before, so it was no surprise to Pat.
I thought he was deliberately concealing his strength from his wife so he could spy on her. Nasty piece of work, and she daren't say anything to him, although she is getting a bit braver. It was so difficult in those days for wives to leave their husbands. Hope things turn out better for her.
