To be fair, it's not strictly a 'European' competition but one for EBU members and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation has been an Associate Member of the EBU since 1950.

It would be interesting if all of the other Associate Members joined in ;-)

The joke is that the UK public vote put Lithuania & Poland (Poland! - that song!) 1st & 2nd.

Fair enough Chris, music is of course entirely subjective ;-)

I agree that those 3 countries offered good enough Eurovision fare, but Poland in 2nd with UK voters & Ukraine winning overall was frankly astonishing to my way of thinking.
