New remote - no work - correct model number. Can switch box on then nothing. Help!

you've done the usual? on off at the socket and waited 30 ses and all that jazz?
Is remote 'talking' to the box?
Are batteries in remote ok?

if all is fine with that lot, then, I'm sorry, I'm at a complete loss :-(

My Freesat remote has four buttons at the top: PVR, TV, DVD and AUDIO. If you first press the PVR button, does it work then?
