and no mention of one of the biggest conrtibutors to them year after year?

I think there are many benefactors of charities who don't bang their drums.

Some do - perhaps to raise awareness and if they do it for self glorification, so what - the charity still benefits.

I think the Masns do a lot for charity but it is never publicised. Why does it bother you?

The Masons are one of the largest contributors to local and national charities (including the RNLI) throughout the UK all funded by the generosity of their individual members and families. Whenever there is a crisis somewhere they are always the first to send money to help. They don't shout about it but it's not a secret! Google it! Here's a link to get you started
