As you know AOG, our views on patriotism don't often chime, but I do completely appreciate that form and enjoyment at the Last Night, and it would be sad indeed if anyone disturbed the tradition for any reason.

I'm not sure I understand what the term 'dangerously English' means though!

They may be 'English' but as they are held in England and nobody is forced to watch nor any ethnic group barred from going I can't see that there is any problem.

Brexit gets the blame for everything these days.

I'm struggling to understand how he thinks this pro-brexit disruption might manifest itself in amongst all those waving union jacks and Land of hope and glory. Would we be aware if any extra brexit celebrations snuck in there?

I'd be more concerned about the "spirit of Brexit" hijacking Polish lives than something that would surely hardly be noticed.
A bit like worrying that the Oktoberfest is going to be commandeered by Autumn Gold drinkers :-)

Don't be naïve. This is a rallying call by Kenyon, ex director of the Proms and a campaigner for Remain in the pyramid scheme, to the Remainiacs to do just that. He is hoping for a display from the audience members to make a protest against Brexit.

At what point do you know that the usual flag waving and general rather toe-curling bonhomie has gone over to the dark side
The odd poster of Boris Johnson perhaps.
"German composers go home" banners perhaps

I read today that 'remainers' are intending to disrupt by waving EU flags. This is really provocative and asking for trouble. It is also a pathetic attempt to overturn a democratic vote. I've watched the 'Last Night' since childhood and had a jolly good patriotic sing-song. We are allowed to be British on the Last Night (English, if you prefer, but I have always considered myself British).

If this carries on we shall all be marching behind the flag of St. George in protest!

Maybe some of the usual flag wavers could have both Union Jacks AND EU flags?
That might confuse a lot.
I suspect all this is a load of nonsense, but is sometimes, as a N Ireland native, whose country gets pilloried for its obsession with flags and 'symbols' that the condition is not always confined to us :-)
