It is also a pathetic attempt to overturn a democratic vote. I've watched the 'Last Night' since childhood and had a jolly good patriotic sing-song. We are allowed to be British on the Last Night (English, if you prefer, but I have always considered myself British).
If this carries on we shall all be marching behind the flag of St. George in protest!

I suspect all this is a load of nonsense, but is sometimes, as a N Ireland native, whose country gets pilloried for its obsession with flags and 'symbols' that the condition is not always confined to us :-)
