Are the BBC struggling that much for programmes that they have to keep showing the foul mouthed Brendan O'Carroll as this awful woman. It really isn't funny and the language only makes it less so,if that's possible.

Actually its Sir Humphrey Appleby and yes they were made for those parts. The attempt to remake these programmes fell fat on its face,it was awful.

What's that Mamya.
Thank you grumpy, thought it didn't sound quite right.
Yes, I think the BBC are struggling for programmes.

I suggest that they raise the licence fee so that they can pay the upper echelon more money, which in turn, will result in better programmes!
Good idea. Wonder why no-one's thought of that mc.
Do you like Father Ted, grumpy?
I love the programme, funniest thing on tv.
And I do not consider there is something wrong with me!!
I think Mrs Browns Boys is hilarious myself.

Most TVs can receive hundreds of channels these days Grumpy....why not turn over, as we used to say, and see what is on the Other Side ?

A channel that I am watching more and more these days, is "PBS America", on Ch534. There was an excellent documentary about the Kindertransport last night......a treat for the usual desert of dreary blandness that is a British Saturday night.

Can't recommend it highly enough :::::

My son had it on once a few years ago and I saw the very unfunny Ardal o'Hanlon was on there.I have never been back since.
With the greatest of respect Gumpy, If you don't like Father Ted, I am not sure what else to say !

I have never met anyone who didn't like the show before.....you are the first !
The standard answer to people who don't like a programme is turn it off and don't watch. Will that make it funny ?Like the tree falling in the forest .
Like Father Ted !!!..DDDDDRRRRRINK !!! LOL
I can't resist this !

I like it.
Father Ted was genius.
