Did anyone watch The Eichman Show on TV last night. Came across it by accident and was absolutely spellbound. The images still shocked me though I have seen them many times over the years. Great acting from Martin Freeman and Anthony LaPaglia - indeed the whole cast was wonderful.

I remember the trial when I was 13. He was the only person ever to have been executed in Israel.
I didn't see it, but I always think of the phrase used to describe Eichmann - 'The banality of evil ...' which is a wonderfully apt and chilling expression.

He looked like, and saw himself as, a clerk, an office worker.

The fact that his work involved facilitating the deaths of millions of people did not seem to trouble him in the slightest.

The footage from his trial showed his lack of emotion at everything that was said by eye witnesses and shown on film - chilling.
I watched it back in 2015 and agree, maggiebee, it was very, very good. I think I'll watch it again as I see it's on YouTube which I can get on my tv. It'll be a good thing to watch on a Saturday night as tv is dire, then.
