Trying to catch a sharp knife as it falls off the worktop is not a great idea.

When you've removed the U bend under the kitchen sink, don't' tip the water from the U bend down the same sink...

I had my microwave under the electric switch for the boiler. I put a chopping board on top of the microwave which turned the switch off without me realising.

No heating or hot water so called the plumber out...took him quite a while to figure out what had happened :-)

talking of power cuts, radio went off, so it's not a great idea to find out if there's anything worth watching on the tv.

dont scrape wall paper from behind a light switch without turning the electric off - unless you like the buzzy feeling of course.

Done the falling knife trick & the power cut + cuppa, adding "If the kettle doesn't work, I'll use the microwave instead. Oh, right."

Later being surprised when the phone rings, while wondering why the laptop (battery-powered) won't work with a powerless router.

I discovered last week that my mobile phone does not change channels on the TV. Mr Smow watched me for at least 2 minutes before laughing.....

FF, my Mum noticed my school collar was sticking up and tried to sort it out whilst I was wearing, I ended up with a 2" blister that looked like a caterpillar :-(

Similar to the u-bend, I lost count of the number of times having loving made a big pot of stock they've strained it straight down the sink.

Make sure your spin speed hasn't been turned to 0 before calling out repair man to "fix" washing machine.

My bungalow was hit by a thunderbolt 18 months ago.

My Tv, computer + monitor, sky box & modem were all frazzled, so unplug all electrical appliances, as it could happen to you.

Thank goodness for home insurance.

When you're staying with guests and throw back the bedroom curtains in the morning......do not instinctively try to catch their collection of cacti that you've knocked off the windowsill..... :-(
