Was anyone else distracted by the director's need to put small spotlight type desk lamps in the background of almost every shot, and then shoot with lens flare, so as to seem "arty"?

Mmmm, nope.
No, I've never seen the programme....but I do notice that indoor shots in just about every programme I watch have all the lights on (table, floor, ceiling...the lot).
OH is watching it now with the sound down. I'll look up every now and then to see what you mean.
No. I was more distracted by the ridiculous storyline but I kept watching.

I would prefer that to some of the programmes, that think we wear night glasses, and cant see a thing.
PS:
What I do notice on many occasions uncle, in dramas/movies, ps when a person enters their home, and suspicious that somebody's inside, they walk through the house without turning any lights on, too dramatic music.
