Did anyone watch the first part of the new series Strike? Wondered if it was worth catching up on.

And you wouldn't want to be on the floor with him, Patsy???

My idea of bliss.... ;-)
Well.... now that you've said!....:-)

Afraid I'm a bit to old for him, but he is definitely a bit of all right. While I'm on, was there another series before this one? I watched a bit which seemed to fill in all the background and wondered if there had been another series before this one?
Is the one leg critical to the plots I wonder? Maybe he will conceal weapons there.
This is the third of a series of books by JK Rowling as Robert Galbraith. The other two have been on TV. Next one not published yet.
I have read them all and would rather read them than see it as Strike doesn't match my mental picture of him and it puts me off. They stuck to the books well I thought having seen the first two.
Remember concluding episode tonight 9pm BBC1
Just returned to this thread. SD really did make me LOL!

My cosseting ability has not been tested lately though. Willing to try G x
Yes, very good.
Now that Robin has married the boring chap I'm doing the cosseting, Jake....so hands off!!!!! ;-)
I did find it a bit difficult to sort out who was who at the end. Also, I did hope for a Mrs Robinson moment!
I had to think hard too, Helly......and yes.....I was hoping he'd whisk her off into the wide blue yonder.......... :-(
I'm afraid I got completely lost, and couldn't remember the story from last week. Still enjoyed it though: well cast, well directed, and underplayed.
It would definitely have benefited from the two parts being shown at an interval of less than a week - very hard to remember all the relevant bits of the plot after a 7 day break.

Good stuff though.
Strike is a top quality production but the 'limping scene' towards the end of episode two was a brazen steal from 'the usual suspects' film

I found it hard to follow the relevant bits of the plot watching them only a couple of days apart.

Strike may be one for the ladies, but us men aren't exactly left out as his partner is blooming gorgeous.
