Hitchcock said that in films and drama involving murders there should always be justice in the end, audiences need justice he said. So I hope that Phelan is going to be caught and not just disappear, as happens so much in dramas today.

I don't watch soaps these days, but I remember in the past, they always had a core of morality going through them, and justice was served, eventually.

Hopefully that is a system that has not altered as the soap has moved with the times.
It seems he will be killed off though, I'd much prefer him to suffer!!
I don't have much contact with soaps but what little I've discovered includes a general l assertion by the scriptwriters that the police a a bunch of utter incompetents and that justice - such as it is - is served by the programme's resident "hard man".
I absolutely agree. And why do they have to drag it out so long before justice is seen to be done? By the time they get around to it, it`s easy to forget what the crime was in the first place!
Yes, and whoever stole the village bunting in The Archers needs to be identified and brought to justice.
Trouble is I'm starting to like him now, he's lovely with Summer and I admire the way he handled Billy which worked far better than the softly softly approach of Eileen and Eva !!
Trouble is he`s a multi murderer, and prime time TV can`t be seen to be condoning such crimes - or can they? After all, we`re living in an age where almost anything goes!
All comes to a head next week.
