At the start of January, I bought a chair and 2 seater couch from an Italian furniture shop. The two items cost £2500. They arrived Tuesday and the chair looked great but the couch was such a disappointment. The material was puckered along all the seams and had no appearance at all. We went back to the shop today and an assistant told us it could take 3 months for the material to "settle" plus the move from its factory in Italy to this country could cause climatisation problems ( don't know what that means!). They were meant to call me back this afternoon but so far , nothing. I wouldn't mind waiting another 3 months to get it right or just have my money back. I should have stuck to John Lewis, their couches are far better looking than the one I have been sold. What are my rights?
I don't know your rights, but in your position I'd insist an official record of my complaint was made, and it recorded that I was told by them to wait 3 months. Wouldn't want any chance of claims I'd used it for 3 months then tried to return it.
