There will be two sets of viewers - original Brucie fans who will be moaning that it's not the same any more, and anyone under twenty-five who will be wondering what on earth this tosh is all about!
I doubt anyone could be less watchable than Bruce Forsyth, but as far as I remember, the show was rubbish the first time round. Not sure why they would want to do it again.
I think the show was made popular by its presenters - like them or not, and the fact that Jim Davidson was host, shows just how far back in TV history this was.
I don't think Mel and Sue have the comedy chops to carry this format, adjusted though it may be, and I doubt a series will be forthcoming.
God awful idea. It was always a terrible programme. I quite like Mel and Sue individually, but this sounds like something that will land in an enormous heap with a plop.
chrissa - // Bradley Walsh would be perfect for it. //
Quite possibly, and I bet he was approached, but he is too savvy to touch it with a barge pole.
I wonder if this was the carrot offered by the BBC to stop Mel and Sue going to Channel Four with Bake Off? If so, they both need new agents - quickly!
I expect those who like that sort of thing will enjoy it. I quite like Mel and Sue, and I thought the programme following Sue's journey tracing the Ganges through India quite different from the norm and really very good indeed. I wish them success.
Don’t know why they want to revamp classic shows there was only one host for Generation Game and that was Bruce, can’t abide Mel and Sue dont find them funny or entertaining stopped watching bake off because of them, Mel hosting Light it Shine was cringeworthy, so big turn off for me .
