It's the way the public voted, though I feel the judges would have gone the same way.

The best act did not win.

It's all subjective though. I could watch those two all night. The others were all the same as every other year.

I've seen quite a bit of BGT this year. The one act that's stuck in my head all the way through is the Giang brothers. Never seen anything like it ... awe-inspiring ... jaw dropping. Their act tonight was unbelievable!

They are also a genuine variety act. You wouldn't sit and watch them for 2.5 hours. You'd go to see a variety show, which would feature them for 10-15 minutes - a bit like Hans Moretti, the bullet-catching guy who was a regular on The Paul Daniels Magic Show.

Lost Voice Guy was the best of the home-grown talent. But have you never heard of him? He won the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards in 2014.

But I didn't vote. Never do. These sorts of contests are won by the sort of people who appeal to the sort of people who would vote in these sorts of contest.

The Giang brothers were fairly impressive first time, although I wouldn't call it entertainment- and then just more of the same.

The problem with the dance acts is - there are only so many shapes you can throw with the human body, so everyone does literally the same things, all that alters is the staging, which gets more OTT each time, but underneath that, the moves are identical.


The problem with the comedians for me is exactly the same as it is for all TV comedians - they weren't funny.

You can have a USP like disability, but if you are not funny, then as a comedian, you have got a bit of a problem.

As I said on a previous post, which was borne out again tonight, every single judge said exactly the same thing about every single act - you were brilliant, and you deserve to win.

The entire exercise is redundant, shan't bother another year.
