My neighbour signed a full package contract in April 2016 for 18 months. In Sept 2017 she downgraded this contract (dropped movies, dropped sports, broadband speed to 100). My question is ,by making these changes did she enter a new contract for X number of months or is just a 30 day notice to cancel required.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Btw I have Sky so I cant really help her, but I hope you can.

She needs to read her contract T and C really carefully because it depends on what is in it.
I would say that she entered a new contract. She should check with Virgin
Yes, she entered a new contract. If she wants to get out of it without penalty now is a good time to try. Some disgruntled Virgin customers are cancelling their contracts without charge because of the loss of Uktv channels although it has been reported that it is impossible to get through to them on the phone at the moment.
Tell her to keep trying and if the first person she speaks to refuse to cancel the contract, try again.

Thanks for that. I don't know if she watches any UKtv stations but I'll pass on the info.
