Anyone else moved to tears by the beautiful way the Italian family received the English relative they never knew they had? So moving.

Yes but then I'm usually moved to tears on all the long lost family stories.
Yep. Cried my eyes out. Glad I was on my own!!
er...
eek
no actually

The Italian was well translated - bellissima, molto gentile and so on. " an she went to Mass on Sunday and spend a few hours weez us lader arn...."
all very - gemutlich ( sorry wrong language ) the only problem being the maiden aunt had abandoned a baby thirty y previously - so zat zee abby family was all a sham

she also said - even today a leedol baby like that - zay could not stay here

I think I have been subject to too much finger pointing ( at myself) and after you find out that your accusers.....
were doing it themselves ! ( but just didnt feel the need to tell anyone - ever ! )

Peter Pedant, that answer needs it’s own translator! Didn’t understand a word
Rarely does, thesshhh!
We need a translator of gobbledegook.
I can’t watch all this heart-wrenching stuff. I’m fed up seeing people on television crying. I won’t watch the X-Factor for the same reason. Everyone seems to be baring their emotions lately. I want to be entertained – and tears don’t entertain me. They sadden me.
If only Stanley Unwin was still with us.
I think we are supposed to cry and I do because it's genuine. The emotions are real and raw. If it were me I wouldn't want thousands of people watching me at such an emotional time but I suppose it's the cost you have to pay for the help you get in finding your relative. I thought the lady who gave up a son and now finds she has a "daughter" in transition was amazing.
But they aren't sad tears, Naomi.
Still too emotional ... for me at least.
ah....well there is this programme on teevee
and it is about people finding their parents
and this one ..... the mother was Italian
and had gone back to er ...... um Italy
which is a long way away from London
and they dont speak like the actors in East Enders in I
they have funny accents ....like Joe Dolce
in Shaddapa Your face
that is a hit song in England by the way
o jesus - and no one in Italy spoke English
not even the translators
and they also really didnt tell us what was going on ...
like the Italian said that if someone did that in Cassino (that was the town in Italy - did you spot Monte Cassino on top of the hill no I didnt think you did)
did that in Cassino today you would still be ostracised ....
so there was a back-story we werent told

so no I didnt cry
// If only Stanley Unwin was still with us//

were .....were
If only Stanley Unwin were still with us.

but he's not - [closed conditional.] as I explained on one of Naomis deleted threads. It wasnt deleted because of me
