Just had the bad news that my Aunt Norma in Florida has passed in her sleep.
Now running around trying to get a flight and discovered if I fly in November the fare is approx £200 cheaper than if I go in December.
So trying to arrange to go by Friday. It seems we may be out there for Xmas and I had just started my xmas shopping.
Will be having the family round in the week to have an early xmas fest!
RIP Aunty.

So sorry to hear that, that's awful.
Try Norweigen Air, if I'm flying economy they do super cheap flights, I can do London to NY or Atlanta for £150 quite often and sometimes even lower than that. x
Sorry fo your loss. I hope you make the best you can of the festive period xx
I don't know if Norwegian go to Florida but they are usually much cheaper. I would say my daughter recently flew with them to NY and her return flight was cancelled about an hour before she was leaving for the airport and not re-scheduled for 24 hours later. Mind you she did get 600 euros back in compensation. Sorry for your loss at a rather awkward time of the year adding to the stress.
Hope you get a flight sorted, my condolences.
My sincere condolences to you and your family Sharon
I'm sorry for your loss, Sharon......this is the Aunt you often looked after?.... Gx

Thanks all. Still on the phone to various airlines. Norwegian do fly to Fort Lauderdale which is where I want to get to but seat availability is bad.

Yes Gness. Sad but it was on the cards.
I flew Norwegian Air once. That was enough.

It was only short haul (Canaries). I had a 7am flight. Despite the aircraft being attached to an air bridge I had to traipse out across the apron to steps at the rear of the aircraft (so as to facilitate speedy embarkation). It was pelting with rain and freezing cold. I spent the next four hours nicely strapped in wearing soaking wet apparel. I ordered a drink "deal" and only got half of it served before the stewardess proceeded to the next seat. When I asked for the rest she insisted I'd only paid for what I'd got (and the discussion was made more difficult by scarcely anybody among the crew being able to make themselves understood).

You gets what you pays for (or, in the case of Norwegian, don't get what you pay for as their fares were not particularly cheap). Hopefully they've shaped up a bit following their foray into long-haul, but never again for me, short or long.
My condolences to you & your family, Sharon & I hope you get your travel sorted ok. x
Often airlines hold back seats for emergencies like bereavement. it would be worth ringing around to see if any of these
seats are available.
Sorry for your loss Sharon. Hope you can get a good deal on flight soon.x
I am sorry to hear your sad news Sharon. I hope you can get things sorted. xx
I'm sorry to hear that your Aunt Norma has died. You were very good to her.

I hope all this doesn't cause you too much disruption and upset. Good luck with finding flights. Safe journey, Sharon.
