Sorry to say I struggled with this. It was so dark - difficult to see what was going on, and who was the man in the car boot?

I'm afraid I nodded off. I think Elba's much better than the material - he doesn't seem totally involved in what's going on.
The psychiatrists husband
i think the powers that be have amassed a cast of mumbling actors just to confuse me
I watched this thinking it would be a stand alone drama, as nothing led me to think otherwise. Unfortunately it seems to be flashing back from time to time to a previous series.
Other than that I'm quite enjoying it so far.
I have never watched any of the older series. However, I settled down to watch the new series having heard many good reports. Afraid I turned over half way through as I lost the thread. Maybe I needed to be in from series one?
Maggie...watch it from series 1, well worth it.
Thanks ummmm, might just settle down to a binge watch!
Luther is one of the BBC's best dramas (IMO of course).

I'm recording it and will watch it altogether later on. Watching Escape at Dannemora at the moment.
I haven't watched any of the previous series Maggie and I can make out what's going on in this one. It's easy to follow if you just bypass the flashbacks, although I will watch the earlier episodes later.

I thought last night's episode was better than the first. But - how was it that the operating theatre was visible to the public!! Why did Alice do what she did (not going to say in case I spoil it).
Haven’t watched it yet as saving them all up, but it looks dark as I believe producers feel it adds to the atmosphere
“how was it that the operating theatre was visible to the public!!”

I don’t think they are, they are for staff and students to watch procedures. She’s the wife of a consultant, and also a doc herself, that’s probably why she was able to access the viewing area.
