I've just been re-watching this film, and wondered if anyone there agrees that it is one of the funniest films ever made.

We are dealing, as usual, with subjective opinion here. If Atheist things it is one of the funniest films ever made, then in his opinion, that is what it is - to him, but not to myself, or others.

//Are you serious, Rockrose? (This is a serious question)//
YEP, think she's serious. Some people just don't know how to have a laugh...
Funnier than Life of Brian, you ask? Well, off the top of my head:

Way Out West (Laurel and Hardy)
The Pink Panther Strikes Again
This is Spinal Tap
Duck Soup (The Marx Brothers)

Rock. What do you find funny? (and are you offended by the religious element of L of B, or just lack of humour?)
There is a rude line in the opening song.

Rock, I meant lack of the film's humour, not your soh!
he's a very naughty boy !
I would add Blazing Saddles and Some Like It Hot.
It's amusing, but it's not the funniest film I have ever seen - the second Inbetweeners film made me laugh far more.
Does nobody find Silence of the Lambs funny then?
I thought it was hilarious ;-)
Nah, Blazing Saddles is funnier.
Carry on Ryzen and Nailit I’m sure it makes you feel better about yourselves!
I do not find Monty Python funny at all.
Yes it is.
So Silence of the Lambs wasn't a comedy then?
Wondered why I was the only one laughing in the cinema!!!
A decent film but, like MPFC itself, I think it has become over eulogised with time. I was an avid MP fan but looking back only about 10% to 20% was really funny. The rest was mildly amusing.

So it is with Brian. It has its moments but that's as good as it gets.
there's a very transgender-ish section in it - would it be permitted to show it on tv now?
As Good As It Gets is one of the best rom coms ever made ...
Another vote here for Blazing Saddles...and another Mel Brooks film, The Producers. Haven't seen them in ages, so I don't know if I'd still find either funny.
I liked Bud Abbot and Lou Costello. Thy did make me laugh.
^they^
I loved the Producers Pasta but the original not the remake, Springtime for Hilter gets me everytime.
I much prefer stand up though.
