I'm not unknowledgeable about world war 1, but after watching WW1 in colour it makes you wonder what we really have to complain about, ( including myself ) it brings one back down to earth, for what we take for granted. Well worth watching if you can stand it?
My goodness v_e get over yourself, you are going WAY over the top!! I can think of many, many more things in this world much more 'disgusting'. Still, if it makes you feel all self-righteous ..
I get this OP and fair play.. However just because someone once experienced something terrible we never wish to experience ourselfs, doesn't mean we should put up with our way of lifes simply because we're not being bombed or worrying for our lifes.
People talk as if war on this level is normal. It's not.. warped.
For example, if a woman is living in an abusive relationship, she can't simply think.. Well at least my man is at home and not at war, how lucky i am. And if a man has to go to a terribly paid job whilst being abused by his boss, can't simply think well at least i've not been recruited best make the most of it.
I think the mentality, "oh you can't be upset about X because Y is happening to a child in Africa" is stupid.
// one of himself on Lunenburg Heath shortly after hostilities had ceased in WW2. //
