I find it difficult at times to have a conversation where I have to watch what I am saying, that could be the reason I make so many blunders on here,
My daughter is forever saying you can’t say that dad,or that’s not said anymore,my personal opinion is that it has gone to far the other way,yes there are some things should not be said and in saying that I find that the use of the F word in every day speech has become like god bless you to an awful lot of people.

As you all know on AB I am no Psychiatrist and my knowledge of Psychology is at best basic and at worst nil, but knowing Jordy over the years, as I have although i have never met him, is that he was born in Scotland of a working class family, probably many siblings,in the 30's above average intelligence but for whatever reason did not go on to further education....

Different times, different values, different aspirations Jordy......I'm afraid one has to swim with the tide. It has taken me a long time to adapt to the modern aspect of family life and i am still not sure that i understand what is going on, what are the advantages and where it is leading us, but i am reassured constantly on AB that it is to our advantage.
I never heard the 'f' word openly used until the book, Lady Chatterley's Lover ,came into the library. Libraries must have had a big increase in people wanting to join the library. As for the book ,so many people had opened it at the page with the 'f' word that it practically opened itself.
To be serious though, parents back then would never have allowed their children to use that word. Nowadays you hear a lot of young mums using it in front of their kids .They just don't seem to care about bad language anymore.
