Is there any channel on which I can watch live test match cricket. I am only interested in the England/Australia series for now?

Sky Sports cricket channel
Sky has the exclusive rights to show The Ashes series. So you either need to subscribe to Sky TV to view it or to find a way to access Now TV's services. For the latter, the most common way to do it is probably by purchasing a set-top box but you can also watch on your computer, phone or tablet:

Once you've got Now TV available to you, you can purchase Sports Passes (giving you access to all Sky Sports channels) for the prices shown here:

Does the fact that I live in Canada have any bearing on this?
For Canada looks like you need Willow TV.
Sky Sports has the UK rights to the series. You can't subscribe to Sky Sports in Canada unless you've got
(a) an exceptionally large satellite dish (to pick up a signal from the very edge of the footprints of the Astra statellites that transmit the Sky Sports channels) ; and
(b) a way of tricking Sky's subscription service that you're in the UK. (There are companies which provide 'proxy' subscriptions for viewers in countries like Spain but I doubt that there's anything similar for Canada).

You can't view Now TV's services outside of the UK unless you've got a UK-based subscription AND you're in an EU country. It might be technically possible to sign up for a Sky Sports Pass with Now TV and then access their services through a VPN but I certainly wouldn't like to guarantee it.

The Canadian rights to broadcast The Ashes are held by Willow TV. To be sure of being able to watch the games you'd need to look for a satellite or cable provider thar carries their services and then subscribe to an appropriate sports package. Such a provider might well be one that provides services to the USA as well as to Canada. See here for a list of the satellite and cable companies Willow TV has partnered with:

In Thailand, I watch the stream on my computer from cricfree.sc.

You have a number of annoying popups as you first connect but after you have deleted those the pictures are very very good, but as it is streamed there is occasional buffering and you also need to reconnect approx once every two hours. Also as it is streamed (from Sky) you have to have the Sky commentators. There is no point in having TMS from the BBC for commentary as the pictures and commentary will not be in synch! As it is streamed though quality differs on the day, most of the time it is excellent, but just occasionally you get days where it is not worth watching due to too much buffering.

But all in all, considering there is nothing to pay, it is excellent coverage.
^^^ Take care when using illegal sports streams, such as the one mentioned by JJ109. They're potentially very dangerous:

I will be content with listenering on radio will never forget Aggers classic comment.
" the bowlers got ? the bowlers willy"
The comment was
" the bowlers holding the batsman willy"
//" the bowlers got ? the bowlers willy"//

I think it was "The batsman's Holding the bowler's Willey" (or possibly the other way round - can't remember without looking it up.
Even Jonners himself wasn't sure he'd even said it, you can hear him say that in an audio clip here.

NJ your quote is correct.
^^^ Unfortunately that story isn't true. Brian Johnston received a spoof letter, which accused him of saying it. He read the letter out on air but denied the accusation and analysis of the recordings of every Test match involving Holding and Willey shows that BJ was right.

I've just said that.
Crossed posts, Mamyalynne.

It's worth checking out my video though, just to hear (at the very end) how the letter accusing BJ of making the slip was actually signed ;-)
I thought Blofeld said it??!!
Ok Chris I still like the quote who ever said it.
No,Sharon, definitely Johnston who didn't say it.
