I've not seen Rocket Man yet, but its more whimsical than Bohemian Rhapsody isn't it? Less of a serious biography?
Question Author
Rocketman includes a serious biographical element, including Elton’s tricky childhood
Bohemian Rhapsody but only because of the music
See BoRap 4 times now - which probably tells you i'm a complete Queen freak - but have yet to watch Rocketman. Will most likely watch it this week. I do like a lot of Elton's music but it will have to be a special film for me to choose it over BoRap. And not just because of the music. Rami Malek does such an excellent job of portraying Freddie Mercury that it will be impossible for any actor to follow should anyone ever think of doing another 'Queen' based film.
I found Remi Malik completely believable as Freddie Mercury, but for me, Taron Egerton neither looked or sounded like Elton John at all.

I was able to gloss over the inaccuracies in the Queen movie, but I thought the portrayal of Dick James in Rocketman was dreadful - making him a Cockney spiv, when the real Dick James was a gentleman, who spoke and behaved like one.
I've not seen Rocket man but do like Many of his songs. Outside of music regarding his personal is very minimal (Watford obviously)

I will watch it with interest though.. but being a life long Queen fan know in myself it won't compete with Bo-Rhap.
I've only seen Bohemian Rhapsody. It was a fantastic film.

I'm not an EJ fan so probably won't watch Rocketman.
I've always been an EJ fan and have seen him live several times and he is always brilliant. Unfortunately I never saw Queen live but have always been a fan of their music. Having seen both films on balance I prefer Bohemian Rhapsody worth seeing just for the Live Aid recreation, but really enjoyed both.
I haven't seen Rocketman yet but I've got Bo Rhap. on DVD. Can't wait to see Rocketman. Hope its got all Elton's 70s hits in it!
Have watched Bo Rhap 4 times to date and just love it. Probably won't watch Rocketman as I have never been an EJ fan, although I do like some of his music.
I haven't seen either yet, but out of the two I'd probably prefer to see 'Rocket Man' Elton John and Bernie Turpin wrote some great stuff, I only liked a couple of Queens records ( didn't float my boat at all really ).
Horses for courses Mr.AV :-)
I know Arky, great showmen though.
