I'm A Celeb - Toxic

I have found I'm a Celebrity to be rather toxic this year.

If James and Ian aren't bullying Andrew... Then Ian and James are throwing around their toxic masculinity. Mansplaning things to the women, not allowing them to have a say and forcing them to go first with food or trials. Yes that could be seen as chivalry but it has been annoying Kate Garraway for one. She's not been allowed to have her say she's been told where she can participate and eat.

But if James and Ian aren't throwing around toxic masculinity, Ian Wright is being a pathetic little baby. When he did the task with James in pitch black, he was so annoyed at how poorly they did that he threw his helmet on the floor when the trial was over, ripped his goggles off and threw them. This is straight up vandalism right on our TV screens and if he was in a tennis match or a golf match, or any other sports match and displayed that juvenile behaviour and attitude he would be penalised. This man has a MBE and he's being a little ***.

But besides all that... If that isn't bad enough, James is mocking disabilities. When Ian went for a run in the camp, James said "Look at that clubfoot. Go on then, expend that energy." Off com received numerous complaints over the disability joke.

But we can put all of that aside, because none of that ruins kids dreams, but what does ruin kids dreams, is telling them Santa isn't real. This was last nights shocker, when Ian and James went on to explain to the camp how Santa isn't real and how far their parents went to make them believe that he was.

no, would you mind mansplaining that for me?
one doesn't have to be a snowflake to detest seeing humans eating live insects etc, at least not for the amusement of the general public.

Bednobs I don't have the energy for whatever nonsense you're trying to cause. If you wish to just be antagonistic may I suggest you head over to chatterbank where you may be appreciated.
Question Author
Exactly Emmie. Although I wish you didn't give that comment any kind of response, the response you gave was bang on.

It seems no one has commented on the toxic masculinity which has been displayed in the jungle. Maybe it's not as obvious to some?
I don't watch it, but to me James Haskell and his throwaway comment is more or less what these fly on the wall (or tree) programmes are about - anyone voting can judge him by it should they wish to.
Two words - pot and kettle.
I thought live insects were off the menu?
Are you seriously saying that IAC affects you?
Question Author
I am not 100% sure in regards to eating, but one think I have noticed is how many bugs are crushed when contestants have to crawl through spaces or lay in boxes. When James and Ian were navigated a pitch black tunnel, a couple of crabs got a little bit squished also.
Perhaps you should cease viewing, it all seems a bit much for you really.
Question Author
Zacs-Master - "Are you seriously saying that IAC affects you?"

Yes. It affects you too, my lovely. Else why would you be commenting on this thread?

The sheer fact that you find it surprising or amusing that it does affect me, in act is causing IAC to affect you also.

It doesn't emotionally upset me, and apart from Ian being a little *** I like watching it. However, off com has still received many complaints. I would never complain to Off com but I would talk about it on AB.

Mamylynne - "it all seems a bit much for you really."

All I am doing is discussing what I and many others have noticed. I still enjoy the show.
I think you're either playing semantics with the word 'affects' or disappearing up your own fundament again, TD, like you do on most threads.
//Reality TV has affected society as a whole. //
I sincerely hope so.I would hope that a younger generation would opt for the off button and pick up a good book. Reading also assists in spelling and grammar etc. :-)
TV watchdog Ofcom has received 78 complaints.

Those viewers are entitled to complain, they are all adults on the show - they should be able to sort it out peaceably.

Question Author
Zacs-Master, I am unsure why you are trying to be so contentious. Are you unable to have a discussion without trying to score a point or trying to smear the other person?

If you don't wish to discuss IAC then don't.

The word affect is clearly defines in the OED.
Live insects for the eating trials are off the menu but they still use thousands of live bugs, spiders etc to cover the contestants. You couldn't pay me enough money to endure that.

Mamylyanne "TV watchdog Ofcom has received 78 complaints."

That is in regards to James' club foot comment.

Separate complaints were made regarding bullying.
