Re The Freddie Mercury Christmas Story. Did you watch it? I found some of it quite interesting though there wasn't as much 'unseen footage' as had been hinted at. And it wasn't really about Freddie's love of Christmas, was it? What it did successfully put across was the total loyalty and love of those nearest to him in refusing to dish the dirt to the gutter press after his death. Of course, the most annoying thing about such music documentaries is that they only play parts of songs and, just when you start to sing along, they cut them short:-(

Two brilliant singers at the top of their game; their voices complimenting each other perfectly. Even the opera snobs agreed, much to many people's surprise. Thanks for that, Tambo, a perfect way to start my last working day before Chrimbo.

10C, for some time, Queen were the greatest rock band in the world. Their vinyl was flying off the shelves, the band were playing to packed football stadiums around the globe; the audience knowing every word of every track and often singing along with Freddie. How much greater can you/would you want to be? The only thing that shortened their tenure as number one band was the video they did for Want To Break . Those American prudes didn't want 5 year olds Billy Jo and Bobby Jo watching men dressed as women when they should be out doing target practice with the assault weapons their dear ol' gran'pappy bought them for their birthdays.

Nah. Never liked him. It seems almost blasphemous to say it, judging by some of the comments. Anyway, as with lots of groups and singers over the years, there's always the element of inclusion and FOMO. I'm sure there was some of that too.

The problem is not your dislike of the man, 10C. It's more your dismissiveness of the range of vocals he possessed. From the lowest note to the highest, Freddie could reach the lot. And that, along with his showmanship, is what makes him special to his fans. There are singers and bands which I cannot abide - as well as certain music genres - but I do realise why they have a hard core fan base.
Even when talking of Queen, I can also be a bit blasphemous when I say that, while I absolutely love most of the stuff they produced, I totally abhor their soundtrack to the Flash Gordon film.
