Re The Freddie Mercury Christmas Story. Did you watch it? I found some of it quite interesting though there wasn't as much 'unseen footage' as had been hinted at. And it wasn't really about Freddie's love of Christmas, was it? What it did successfully put across was the total loyalty and love of those nearest to him in refusing to dish the dirt to the gutter press after his death. Of course, the most annoying thing about such music documentaries is that they only play parts of songs and, just when you start to sing along, they cut them short:-(
Just got in from work to see 10C's post. You really are a joyless soul, 10C. Channel 5 aired this programme because they had some 'unseen footage' of the late, great Freddie Mercury and thought his fans may like to see it. As I said earlier, there wasn't much but, almost 30 years after his death, i'm surprised that there's any at all.
And, I might add, even 34 years after the event, the hairs on the back of my neck still stand on end when watching Freddie play the crowd at Live Aid with Radio Gaga.
I watched it - he seemed to be a very generous and loyal man. Can't believe it's not that far off 30 years since he died - scary. I`m looking forward to Mystify (about Michael Hutchence) which will be on BBC2 on 28th Dec.
I definitely agree on one aspect of your reply Khandro; he is certainly late. Queen would have been even greater if they'd had a good singer. Shame about the high pitched, vibrato voice. The best Elvis songs are the least known. A good example is Early Morning Rain.
Sorry Mozz, can't think of any reason why I would want to search for anything to do with Freddie Mercury. As I said, his high-pitched, whining, vibrato voice was unbearable to me. Still is.

Okay, so if anyone with anysign of musical taste ever needs proof of Freddie's vocal skills, go to YouTube and search for Freddie's isolated vocals. We Are The Champions is breathtaking. :-)
Hiya Ken, yes of course I watched it... the gutter press are allowed to deny everything. I did Enjoy it though (sad as it its) agree you can't but tap your feet and then they cut the track..
Hope the programme makes it out here sometime .....ok, the new bits are few and far between, but I'll watch each one just to enjoy seeing Freddie and the band together, doing what they do/did best ...rock my world and they always will xx
